Duterte finger expression
Davao City Vice-Mayor Rodrigo Duterte lashed out at his critics anew Thursday, saying the dirty finger he flashed in public last Monday was “freedom of expression.”
In an interview with local media, Duterte “flipped the bird” anew.
“Ito naman si Etta, sabi violation of human rights mag-ganun ako (showing the dirty finger),” he said, referring to Commission on Human Rights (CHR) Chairperson Etta Rosales.
“It is a sign of anger, it is a sign of extreme disgust. It means galit ako sa iyo,” Duterte said, blurting out expletives.
He said this was in response to reports that the CHR wants to have him sanctioned.
His son Paul, who is a city councilor and president of the city’s league of barangays, also flashed a dirty finger in front of journalists when asked about his reactions to his father’s stand on the issue. […]
